Help me? USB cord trouble.? |
I bought my video camera a little over a 3 months ago, I havent really used it until now though. I noticed my video camera never came with a USB cord. So, I'm just wondering, do all video cameras come with USB cords? Do I have to buy a one separately? My video camera is a JVC Digital Video Camera GR-DA30.
Do I need a specific USB cord for it? |

GR-DA30, a miniDV vcam, must be DV~Firewire400 ~IEEE1394* cable-connected to a pc or mac to upload video thru video editing** or capture application while vcam is ON PLAYBACK. Most (digital) tape vcams have 4-pin DV ports; BUT before cable* purchase, check computer for DV port {VCAM@4-pin=>firewireCABLE=>PC@ 4pin? or 6pin?}. If none, install firewire card: pci for desktop or pcmcia / express for laptop.

Well they all come with one but maybe you misplaced it and also you could find one at Radio Shack or go to ebay i got mine there for just a few bucks.On ebay just punch in the name brand of your cam in the category accessories Vedio cams etc |

You need a firewire connection. You have a mini dv (cassette) camcorder….
Your dv camcorder needs a firewire connection (ieee 1394) in order to download video, Firewire to usb will not work to download video. You might end up with only sound or only video. Your PC probably did not come with a firewire port, so you will have to buy one and install it, since most computers (except possibly brand new) don't come with a firewire port, your camcorder did not come with a firewire cord so you have to purchase a cord too. Your camcorder should have come with a USB cord and that is used for downloading stills from your camcorder. Make sure your camera is in playback mode. If you have a laptop, make sure your laptop has an empty bay for a card.
The fine print in your manual makes reference to firewire (ieee 1394) connection.
