If you convert from one lossy compression format to another, you'll always lose quality. If you use a good codec (coder-decoder), high bitrate, etc. the difference may be small enough that it doesn't matter much. You can change the container format without re-encoding or losing quality, though. Eg. taking the video out of an mkv and putting it in an mp4. If the mkv contains h264 (also known as AVC) video, you should be able to change it to AVCHD, put it on a dvd and watch it with a blu-ray player (if it supports AVCHD), all without re-encoding or losing quality.
And for the record, there are plenty of freeware converters with no viruses, watermarks, limitations or money required :) |

hi,
That depends on what converter you use. if you use a bad converter, you just waste you time. you can nont get what you want. a free converter always bring in too much virus and is not good to use.
here, i suggest you use 4Videosoft Video Converter Ultimate.
just search it and to have a look at its powerful functions and get one.
good luck! |
